This Oakland apartment is a total tribute to '50s and '60s kitsch

It's a pink pop culture time capsule.

You may not be able to turn back time, but you can certainly surround yourself with antiques. One couple in Oakland, California, has turned their 500-square-foot apartment into a pastel time capsule chockablock with midcentury memorabilia.

Inspired by "1950s, kitsch, Hawaii, vintage Disneyland," Alex and Sean stuffed their pink and baby blue walls with tiki mugs, TV-themed board games, candy-colored cooking appliances, vintage furniture, chintz, starburst clocks and mod paintings. There's even a powder-blue rotary phone to contrast a bubblegum Hoover.

The home was featured on Apartment Therapy, and we are quite jealous of all the cookie jars, ceramic cats and Vernonware.

Take a look at some details up top and below. You can tour the apartment via a 32-image slideshow on apartmenttherapy.com.
