William Shatner receives high Canadian honor

It's the second-highest honor a Canadian civilian can receive

On November 21, William Shatner was honored with one of the highest awards bestowed by Canada. The Order of Canada is only second to the Order of Merit, which has to be personally gifted by the monarch. The Order of Canada is meant for Canadians and others who make Canada a better place by lifelong acheivements.

Shatner, who was born in Montreal, was given the award for his work in film, television, and theatre during his career. Shatner has been working for over six decades and is still actively performing. Many know him from his time as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise or as T.J. Hooker in the eponymous series.

Shatner was inducted into the Order of Canada in a small ceremony along with actor Donald Sutherland.

William Shatner cannot die- thank God! Congratulations, William Shatner on your recognition. As Jim Kirk, T.J. Hooker, Denny Crane, and host of many mystery TV series, you have cemented yourself as a TV legend! Quite the resume’ since “Judgement at Nuremberg”!
