Many classic TV shows each went through different title sequences. The Twilight Zone and Star Trek didn't have incredibly long runs but they still had several different openings.
So, it's no surprise that one of the longest-running dramatic series in history went through distinct phases with regards to its opening titles. Depending on which season you're watching, you'll see Gunsmoke appear onscreen at different times and in different ways.

Hey, I couldn't figure out why mine was wrong at first, I am SO familiar with this show, one of my absolute favorites! I KNEW that was an opening scene, so I didn't pick it - I could never forget my favorite big ol hunk Matt Dillon's rear end! 😂😂 I think that was tricky of them to focus on the word "Title" in the instructions. I was focusing on the scene. Yes RavensDawn, it took me "umpteen tries" also due to the misunderstanding & apparently many people here also misunderstood. Boo on you MeTV!

Something about the hunt and peck system. When you get it your done. If not you hunt and peck some more. When you get it on your last pick then it becomes The Last of the Morepeckians ..........
