Oy, the way the Bee Gee's played,
Movies John Travolta made,
Guessing how much Elvis weighed,
Those were the days!

And you knew where you were then,
Watching shows like "Gentle Ben",
Mister, we could use a man like Sheriff Lobo again!

Disco Duck and Fleetwood Mac,
Coming out of my eight-track,
Michael Jackson still was black

Those were the days!

Quite the sensation when it first aired, had to watch, could hardly believe. But just too obnoxious to watch again. Although my dad had far more class than Archie, there were elements there that I never want to remember.

I didn't remember the amount of rent.

Love Archie. All In The Family was a great show. I'm surprised in this day and age it hasn't been canceled because of somebody getting offended. Those were really the days.

And one Saturday morning, I heard this on a college radio station:

Boy the way that Hendrix played,
Everyone was getting laid,
Gee our Microbus ran great,
Those were the days.

Knew who we could trust back then,
Us was us and them was them,
We could use a man like Timothy Leary again.

Didn’t need much spending cash,
Always had a place to crash,
Everybody shared their stash,
Those were the days!

7. The opening song was re-recorded to have them sing the word “LaSalle” clearer as people would ask what they were saying. The LaSalle was marketed as a luxury car, not one you would expect a blue collar family to own. But they needed a word that would fit.

Yep, that was tricky! I knew they sang "LaSalle" but thought they were refering to the college! Only years later did I learn about the car!

the only prob i had was "ran great", couldn't figure that out...
