How well do you remember ''The Best Christmas'' episode of The Waltons?

''The Best Christmas'' didn't come without several obstacles and serious moments.

The Waltons took on the Christmas angle a few times during the show's nine-season run, not including the pilot TV movie The Homecoming: A Christmas Story

In the season five episode "The Best Christmas," the family must overcome differing plans and dangerous weather. In this classic episode, the Christmas spirit pops up during rough patches several times, eventually honing in on what matters most in this series: family.

I love the series overall. But while this episode is pretty good, it's not one of my favorites. It feels a bit contrived as a "special" Christmas episode. Too many disasters all happen at the same time. Interesting side note: this episode is one of the very few that does NOT end with everyone in their beds saying goodnight to each other. (I can only think of one other. Anyone know if there were more?)

Glad that MeTV chose to highlight "The Walton's" for their Sunday/Christmas Block. The series doesn't get a lot of attention, but is a great show. Hopefully it remains on MeTV's Schedule.🎄🎄
