Dwight Eisenhower allegedly had a thing for this classic TV star
You'll never guess who old Ike had the hots for!

Look, we all have crushes. Some might even argue they're a healthy interest! Crushes are harmless, especially when they're on celebrities. As long as they don't veer on the obsessive, there's nothing wrong with having a crush.
Of course, things are a little more risky when you're the President of the United States of America.
According to Robin Quivers on an episode of The Howard Stern Show, Eisenhower would've risked it all to take a ride in Jethro's Hot Rod with his favorite Hillbilly.

"Buddy Ebsen now says that the president, Dwight David Eisenhower, had a thing for Elly Mae. When he met up with [the former president], Ike kept asking him if he could get Elly Mae's phone number. [Eisenhower asked Ebsen] what it was like to get to hug her all the time?"
While Eisenhower left office before The Beverly Hillbillies ever aired on TV, the 34th president must've developed an affinity for Donna Douglas in retirement.
"They say he was in his seventies, and it was not long before he died."
While there is little to substantiate Ebsen's claims, there is a photo you can find online of Eisenhower enjoying the Bob Hope Classic alongside the former Beverly Hillbillies star Donna Douglas!
