What episode of The Andy Griffith Show was the last for these actors?

You might remember each character's last scene, but can you recall what episode it's from?

The Andy Griffith Show will always be remembered first for Sheriff Andy Taylor and Deputy Barney Fife, and rightfully so. The combo made the show what it was, a smash-hit that never fell out of the Nielsen top-ten ratings.

Andy Griffith and Don Knotts were cornerstones for the show, but there were plenty of fan-favorite characters aside from those two. Some of those roles were more substantial than others, resulting in more appearances. One way or another, each character eventually had their final episode on The Andy Griffith Show.

Now, we’re asking you: What was the episode we last saw these actors in on TAGS?

Good luck!

The Andy Griffith Show Fans:
Does ANYONE know which episode of
The Andy Griffith Show has the
Last Appearance of Warren Ferguson played by Jack Burns
I was also wondering if anyone knows
which episode of TAGS has the Last Appearance of Emma Brand Watson
Played by Cheerio Meredith?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053479/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_cl

There are 3 entries for each actor ( their actual name, their character name and the amount of episodes they appeared in). If you click on the episodes entry it shows all the episodes they appeared in.

Nice work! Feel free to relax now that this quiz is over. Maybe a little more relaxed than Barney!
Missed #4

Fan favorite Ernest T. Bass... I must be the only person who couldn't stand that character.

I still have a shred of dignity left. I'm not going to hold myself up for ridicule by announcing my score. If you find out I only got 3 answers correct, you won't get it out of me. I'm a sphinx.

8/11. I missed #1. I thought Andy got married and that was it. I don't remember him in "Mayberry RFD".

8/11; Number 8 is incorrect - Ron Howard appeared as Opie for the final time on the first episode of Mayberry RFD.

Devil is in the details for sure. It took me coming back to the quiz to realize I was doing the same thing, not realizing to only think of the Andy Griffith Show and also not realizing that the last episode of that particular series was entitled Mayberry, RFD. Messed me up in a few.

Too easy for a Mayberry expert

4/11. I can't believe I was that bad!

4 / 11. I don't think that I ever paid attention to the episode titles. I watched a few of the Ken Berry "Mayberry R.F.D." episodes, but the majority of "The Andy Griffith Show" were watched in syndication with no order (no real continuity applied so sequential airing wasn't really necessary.)

Hi LoveMETV22,
There was at least one "Story" by a fan as that was what inspired me to send mine in.
I understand it's a crap shoot sending in material, it has to fit MeTV's needs and the
whims of whatever editor is in charge.
I have done PR for the Lions for 30 years so I have lots of experience with them,
plus my father was publisher/editor of a magazine, so I like to think I have at least
a vague idea if the copy I submit is any good.
Heck, the kicker of Barney Fife guesting as an actor(portraying Don Knotts) on the Joey
Bishop Show would grab any of the legions of TAGS fans here.
Very few TAGS fans are aware of that, though I have been mentioning it on various
MeTV quiz response sites for awhile now.

I've seen stories where they mention fans, even stories where they use a user name from the comments section in their article. You have my interest on " There was at least one "Story" by a fan." Was it a user here or just a fan in general? I'm sure your experience more than anything fits the editorial part. Also TAGS is a staple program in their schedule, so it's odd they wouldn't use it in a story. I for one and I'm sure many other TAGS fans that visit the website would read it. But you have made the effort so that's the important thing. Who knows maybe you will see something in the future. Your efforts are admirable and you have the fans of TAGS and or Don Knotts as your motivation. 👏👏

Thank you for your kind words. The Story submission was by one of we great unwashed
posters here.
It was awhile ago, and frankly I would not look forward to wading thru all the Stories to find it. Maybe I will take a stab at a Quiz submission some time.
I am hoping MeTV Plus opens a fan site soon, the only place I can talk about their series is here.
I just don't get why there isn't any effort to promote it.

Your Welcome. The quiz idea sounds good. I'm sure there are a lot of fans that would enjoy that.
On the MeTV Plus, it looks like they are only running it on stations they own. Hopefully they expand beyond those in the future. That's probably why it's not- cross-promoted. There are a few pages that have the commenting system like "here." Svengoolie, StartTV, and I think a few of their series like Collector's Call. however that doesn't really connect to MeTV+ as a discussion topic.
