Did M*A*S*H's Frank Burns say these lines, or was it another ''Burns''?

Burns, Bernie, Bernadette... We're cooking with fire!

Did Frank Burns say it, or nah?

Larry Linville is one of our favorite actors famous for playing one of our least favorite characters. Major Frank Burns is the army surgeon that everybody loves to hate. He's the ultimate taskmaster-tattletale. And he has said some wildly out-of-pocket things over the few seasons of the show he was on.

So, can you tell the difference between a Frank Burns quote and one said by someone else? Don't fret, we won't make it too complicated. Each answer is some sort of "Burns"-related name or pun or something to keep everything thematically consistent!

Good luck, and be sure to share your score and your thoughts in the comment section below!

  1. "Funny thing, war: never have so many suffered so much so so few could be so happy."
  2. "Simpson, eh? I'll remember that name."
  3. "That's not my department, sir - intelligence is something I try to avoid."
  4. "Courage is something you shouldn't be afraid to have."
  5. "Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city."
  6. "Bottom line? Until you figure out who burned you... you're not going anywhere"
  7. "I want everybody to understand that this is war, and that war is a call to arms!"
  8. "When it comes to raising children, I believe in give and take. I give orders and they take 'em."
  9. "You'd look out and there'd be little babies watching the show, and boys and girls. They loved the cowboys, and they loved Annie. There were young people seeing the show for the first time. I stayed for two years because I enjoyed it so much."
  10. "A group of brave men are at work in a make shift operating room struggling to save your sons and brothers while outside the dogs of war bark at the door of this sanctuary."
  11. "You're a Mormon! Next to you, we all have a drinking problem!"
  12. "Sir, this jeep is the property of Major General Cornell Dickering."

I always wonder what Hot Lips saw in him. She could have had anyone. I just can’t imagine Frank being a star in the sack, or anywhere else.

#12 "Sir, this jeep is the property of Major General Cornell Dickering" was said TO Frank Burns not BY Frank Burns. That is, if this was a line from Part 2 of "Welcome to Korea" when Hawkeye the newly-arrived BJ and "Corporal-Captain" O'Relly stole a general's jeep to take them from Kimpo Air Base to the 4077th.

Missed #4. For some reason I just couldn't see Frank saying that.
