The Count Rises to the Occasion When "Dracula Has Risen From the Grave"- Tonight!

Posted on November 15, 2025

Tonight on MeTV-the Hammer saga of the vampire count continues- as Sir Christopher Lee once again puts on the fangs to create the revival of his classic character- out to get vengeance against those who have tried to seal his demise- as a freak accident provides the reason that “Dracula Has Risen From the Grave”!

This 1968 film picks up the story after what transpired in the previous film “Dracula-Prince of Darkness”- with the vampire’s last appearance a year in the past after his dastardly doings. The reverend Monsignor Ernst travels to the town near Dracula’s castle to check on its condition- and is shocked to find the people are still living in fear, simply from the presence of the castle. He enlists the cowardly local priest to accompany him up the mountain to the castle, where he will perform an exorcism and seal its doors once and for all.

The treacherous climb complete, the Monsignor performs the ceremony and places a cross to bar the door- but, meanwhile, the priest, who was too weak to join him to the castle, has fallen and injured himself- and his blood proves to be the ingredient that revives Dracula!

When Dracula sees he cannot enter his own castle due to the cross- he enlists the weak-willed priest and demands to know who did this-learning it was the work of Monsignor Ernst- and sets out for his village to get revenge. His main target will be the beautiful niece of the monsignor, Maria. The count enslaves a barmaid, Zena, who actually works in the same inn as Maria’s boyfriend Paul, to assist him in his evil mission. Though the monsignor and Paul are at odds- they must unite to save Maria from the blood-thirsty count!

This is another great Hammer Dracula film, with some gore, some cleavage, and another amazing performance by Christopher Lee- as well as the presence of the stunning Veronica Carlson as Maria.
