Those older folks will encourage you to "live your life in the moment" and "enjoy it while it lasts." Like any good piece of advice, it's annoying to hear over and over again, but you'll realize soon enough that it's right.

Ken Berry knew from a young age that he was meant to entertain others for the rest of his life. During an interview with The Dispatch, Berry explained that he was exposed to performing at a young age. "It was at Willard School," he said.

"They used to have school carnivals this time of year. People displayed their hobbies, bobbed for apples, and stuff like that...It had a little auditorium and there was a troupe of entertainers, they were all song and dance people or dancers...They were all about my age and I just happened to wander in there while they were performing and I said, 'That's it, that's what I want to do.' And I've never changed my mind and never had to do anything else."

Since then, Berry enjoyed an incredibly lucrative acting career, including shows like Mayberry R.F.D and Mama's Family. In fact, the medium that the actor most preferred to work in was television.

"I would kill to get a television series," said Berry during the 1985 interview. It wasn't that Berry valued any technical aspects of television over something like working in film; rather, he enjoyed the consistency that working in television brought him.

"I love getting up in the morning and knowing I'm going to get into my car and know where I'm going to work and know when my paycheck is coming," he said. "That was my great fun."
