Your favorite Looney Tunes are coming back - with a twist!

Th-th-th-that's (not) all, folks!

Warner Bros. Animation

If you grew up loving Merry Melodies and Looney Tunes shorts, Warner Bros. Animation has an announcement that's sure to inspire a rush of feelings: They're rebooting Bugs Bunny and all your favorite characters.

There's an important twist, though. Instead of giving the new Looney Tunes a distinct look and feel, and rather than trying to mimic the style of early artists, the new Looney Tunes shorts will be drawn by a wide variety of well-known cartoonists who will be able to alter the styles from short to short. It's being hailed as hugely ambitious, and Warner Bros. plans to release these shorts in multiple formats, so people can discover and enjoy the latest Porky Pig or Daffy Duck adventures in a web browser, on TV or on their mobile phones.

Warner Bros. Animation President Sam Register had this bold promise for long-time Looney Tunes fans:

“The Looney Tunes are one of the most beloved group of animated characters in the world. Looney Tunes Cartoons places these characters into the hands of some of the best artists in the business and into an animated shorts format that will remind many of the time when they first fell in love with Bugs, Daffy, Porky and the rest of the gang.”

I was excited when I saw the Looney Tunes were coming to Metv , then I read they are reboots ! Yuck ! That’s like decaffeinated coffee, it’s close to coffee it’s not real coffee! I’ll pass on these sensitive, watered down tunes!! Thank god I got the real ones on blu ray!

This is a really old post. From 2018 not sure if it is the same thing that is coming in January 2021

Oh, it's a reboot. I was REALLY excited when I saw the teaser on TV. After reading this article, however, I'm enormously disappointed. Wanted to watch the classic episodes, but having advance warning they aren't the nostalgic gems from my childhood now I definitely won't. How do new knock-offs fit into your format? Opportunity missed, "Memorable Television". Please post when you'll be airing them, so I can plan to change the channel before my eyeballs are polluted.

God, how am I going to break this to my girlfriend? (Glad I didn't already buy all that breakfast cereal I was going to eat watching.)

I feel like that was just mean. No, not mean. Cruel. Bring back The Hulk and Superman. Where's the super in Super Sci-Fi Saturday, anyway? (Okay, I'm done.)

You wouldn't change anything about the Mona Lisa, so why are y'all messing with the Looney Tunes? When I first heard about this I was really hoping it was going to be the originals..
