Kami Cotler on the difference between her and Elizabeth Walton
"I wouldn't do a lot of things she does."

Much like any younger sibling, the smaller Walton children are often easily forgotten about. It's an injustice that should be rectified!
Better known as Elizabeth Walton, Kami Cotler appeared in over 200 episodes of The Waltons, not to mention family reunions later in life. As the youngest child in the Walton family, Cotler was still in the single digits when she began starring in the series. Despite her young age, she took her job seriously, recognizing the importance of the series.
"There are kits of good cries in The Waltons — especially if you're a sucker for a tearjerker," said Cotler during an interview with The Boston Globe.
But while Elizabeth and Kami shared the same face, they certainly didn't share a personality.
"Elizabeth is younger than I am in a lot of ways," said Cotler. "She can be silly. I wouldn't do a lot of things she does. Sometimes I have to put my foot down on the show and say, 'No, Elizabeth wouldn't do something that foolish."
As Kami grew up on the show, so too did the series she starred in. As the years went by, Cotler commented on how much the Walton family had grown up.
"We've all lost our accents," said the actor. "We're not as hokey anymore. We don't go barefoot like we once did. We've gotten more sophisticated because we've got more money. In the beginning, the clothes were dirty. They were from the 1930s — I mean, they were old."
