Harry Morgan became emotional talking about his M*A*S*H co-stars
“Any kind of working relationship I get into after this show will not be M*A*S*H in any way, shape, or form,” said Morgan.

Harry Morgan was incredibly fortunate throughout his career. The actor blazed a trail on television, starring in shows like December Bride and Dragnet.
In 1975, Morgan joined the cast of M*A*S*H as Colonel Sherman T. Potter, remaining as a regular cast member until the show’s conclusion in 1983.
Although the actor joined the series after its conception, Morgan was welcomed into the cast like a member of the family. Moreover, his character was also positively received by fans, a fortune that Morgan credited to the similarities between Potter and himself.
“My character is practically me,” said the actor during an interview with The Toronto Star. “I think it’s very hard for most actors to get very far from themselves. I played mostly the heavy when I first started in pictures, and I’ve played everything you can think of, but I don’t know how many cases I really got that far away from myself.”
In the interview, Morgan became sentimental when discussing his M*A*S*H co-stars.
“Even though there’s a lot of horseplay, the whole tone here has been so gentle,” said the actor. “I’ve never worked with a finer bunch of people than this gang...Some I deeply love. I almost get emotional about it.”
In fact, despite his laundry list of television credits, Morgan seemed to understand that his experience filming M*A*S*H was better than the rest. “Any kind of working relationship I get into after this show will not be M*A*S*H in any way, shape, or form,” said Morgan.
