Frankenstein is one of the most recognizable titles in horror film history. The concept first hit the screen in 1910, and has had several remakes and nuances created since.

The horror film became a horror series after the release of Frankenstein in 1931. The hype took off, launching a spree of sequels, adaptations and new creations of the creation himself.

With such an abundance of Frankenstein movies since the early-Thirties, can you pick which of the following movies were released first?

I really enjoy those Hammer Frankenstein films. Peter Cushing played an evil EVIL Dr. Frankenstein! The classic b/w Universal Frankenstein films also my favorite. Another Frankenstein film that I found interesting was the TNT network made-for-cable film from the 1990s, the one with Patrick Bergen as Dr. Frankenstein, Randy Quaid as the creature and John Mills as the blind man.

My favorite was "Young Frankenstein" by Mel Brooks with Gene Hackman as the blind man trying to serve soup to the monster and then lighting his thumb on fire instead of his cigar.

I totally agree! Love that movie. Marty Feldman was hilarious as were all of them.

Watched Shock Theater with "Marvin" as the host back in Chicago as a kid during the 1950s and loved all the old black and white Frankenstein movies (Wolf Man and Dracula movies also). Still love the fantastic use of lighting and shadows in those old ones. My favorite comedy movie is Young Frankenstein ... have watched that maybe 40 or 50 times but who's counting.

You must be a youngster. I've watched "Young Frankenstein" at least 200 times. I can "perform" the entire movie, dialogue and all, from memory.
