What network did these classic TV shows start on and switch to?

Some series stayed with their original networks for the duration, others jumped to a different one. Can you name the networks these shows belonged to?

Back when the big three ruled it all.

NBC, ABC and CBS.

Before they ran on your favorite network today (that's of course us at MeTV), your favorite shows ran on one of the three networks above and sometimes even switched!

Below are several classic television shows. See if you can name the original network they ran on, and which one they switched to, if they switched at all!

Good luck!

  1. What network did The A-Team originally air on?
  2. What network did the above series switch to?
  3. What network did Adam-12 originally air on?
  4. What network did the above series switch to?
  5. What network did All in the Family originally air on?

"You got 17 out of 20 You can certainly keep your networks straight! Nice work!"

The latest example is the Magnum PI reboot which went from CBS to NBC, new
episodes start Feb. 19, this Sunday. Last year it finally found it's way, ditching all
the mass firefights nonsense. The star apparently had major input into making
it better - the fool producer Lenkov is long gone - and hopefully the 5th season
will be a rebirth. I assume there will be a nod to the now deceased original TC.
Yes, but I can't accept a Magnum/Higgins relationship! It might have been fun in the '80's If Selleck & Hillerman were a couple...LOL!

16/20. Not too shabby. I got Hitchcock, Beaver & Matlock wrong. I knew Beaver switched but I didn't know which network it premiered.

10/20. This was a good quiz but horrible for me. I couldn’t recall the network I saw many of them on or if I’m recalling a channel I watched them on in syndication. Yikes!

7/10. Not bad considering the fact that I've never been able to keep the networks straight, not that I ever cared or wanted to... ABC - Always Broadcasting Crap... NBC - Nothing But Crap... CBS - Constantly Broadcasting Sh*t...

8/20. If I liked a show, I watched it, but I didn't pay attention (or care) which network it was on.

My own favorite was Bachelor Father: started on CBS, went to NBC, finished at ABC!
Only trifecta that I can think of offhand in modern times; back in the Early Days, Arthur and Kathryn Murray's Dancing Party did four networks, including DuMont - but I'm the only one here old enough to remember that ...

15/20, some of these I had no idea. Good quiz! Some shows off the top of my head that switched networks, My Three Sons, Get Smart, Taxi, Family Matters, Step by Step, and most recently, the reboot of Magnum PI.

Great quiz, because the format was interesting!!

It helped immensely that until 1969, I lived in a place where we couldn't really pick up the ABC affiliate clearly. I could guess that if I didn't remember ever having the option to watch the show they were asking about growing up.

Yeah, ABC was the RC cola of broadcast networks for many years!

And RC was the Larry Fine of cola-flavored beverages.
Spike started out as The Nashville Network, now it's the Paramount Network!

There are variations of that, but I was going to the Gremlin cartoon with Bugs! "I'm only three and a half years old!" "I like him, he's silly!"
