*insert your name here* & the Quiz Takers!

It's a common complaint that "all of the good band names have been taken." While we don't necessarily believe that new things aren't as good as old things, we'll admit that modern band names don't have the zing to them that they used to.

Band names formatted "______ & the ______s" were popular in the '60s through the '80s. Do you think you can remember some of the most popular acts? Let's find out!

I thought it was Frankie Lyman and the Juniors.
I thought so, also.
But, according to Wikipedia (Iknow, I know), it was Danny and the Juniors and Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers.

I have to say I never encountered "Katrina and the Waves". What's a song from them that makes a good introduction?

BTW - thanks harlowe1313 and Cynthia for the music suggestions. I love "The Killing Moon" and "Cities in Dust" (I love the whole 'Tinderbox' album.) :)
Walking On Sunshine (Oh Oh) and don't it feel good!
Of course! I know the tune- just never associated a band with it. Thank you!

14/15 The one I missed was #5. Who the heck was Echo and the Bunnymen?
Try "The Killing Moon" out on the Youtube for a great introduction.

Quite right. They have the distinction that their biggest hit sorts into the non-alphabetic part of any playlist whether they're listed by artist or song title. (BTW, that song, "96 Tears", also has the distinction that no two lines of the lyric actually rhyme.)
