In one corner, the psychedelic, operatic Pink Floyd, authors of such masterpieces as "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall." From their avant-garde beginnings to their colossal concept albums, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, and Pink Floyd carved their names into the tablet of rock 'n roll eternity.
The Doors are one of the most provocative bands in American history. With lyrics like poetry and a stage show like nothing before or since, Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore changed the course of rock music, adding artistry and a drunken stagger.
