Can you tell the difference between Jed Clampett and Barnaby Jones?
How well do you know Buddy Ebsen's iconic characters?
CBS Television Distribution
True television icons have two or more characters to their name. Andy Griffith was Sheriff Taylor and Matlock. William Shatner was Captain Kirk and T.J. Hooker. Mary Tyler Moore was Laura Petrie and Mary Richards.
And Buddy Ebsen, of course, was Jed Clampett and Barnaby Jones. The Beverly Hillbillies was one of the biggest — if not the biggest — sitcoms of the '60s. Barnaby Jones was one of the longest-running detective series of the '70s.
Showing Ebsen's range, they were two wildly different characters. So — think you can tell them apart?

Whooo hooo. Hoo doggie, 14/14. Well ive always been a big fan of Barnaby and Jed. So this one came in not to tuff for an oldie like me.
13/14. Got #13 wrong. Didn't know that about Nixon. "Hillbillies" was a great show. I'd like to get the whole series on DVD but they only put out the first 5 seasons.
I'm picturing Nixon in his brogans walking along the sandy seashore, reflecting on the previous night's Quinn Martin Production.
Perhaps I need to get out more.

9 of 14. I did OK on the Jed Clampett questions but the Barnaby Jones ones got away from me. I didn't see much of the show when it was aired or in reruns.
