Can you guess if this is a TV show or its movie version based on the year it came out?

Was it MASH the movie or the TV show that came out in 1972?

Though remakes and reboots seem to be happening now more than ever, Hollywood has been recycling things since the very first silent films. When television came along, it provided even more opportunities to redo certain stories. Sometimes shows proved so popular that they crossed over into films!

Here is a selection of titles that were both TV shows and movies. Each one is paired with the date it came out. Using that alone, can you guess whether each one refers to the movie or the TV show?

  1. In the Heat of the Night – 1967
  2. The Flintstones – 1960
  3. Dragnet – 1987
  4. The Fugitive – 1993
  5. The Invisible Man – 1958
  6. The Beverly Hillbillies – 1962
  7. Buffy the Vampire Slayer – 1992
  8. 12 O’Clock High – 1964
  9. Planet of the Apes – 1974
  10. Highlander – 1986
  11. M*A*S*H – 1972
  12. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea – 1961
  13. The Odd Couple – 1970
  14. The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams – 1974
  15. Flipper – 1964

Can you guess if this is a TV show or its movie version based on the year it came out?

Hey MeTV Staff: we're still paying attention or maybe you're looking to your new Full House and Monk viewers. But we remember these stories. The reason being the header-date and age of the comments! Not to be repetitious with our comments it takes the advantage away from us appreciating a new story!

She deleted it.
It wasn't about the show (content)
It was about her.
Big difference.

Flipper, the movie?
I bet there were lines around the block for that one.
Maybe for the Chuck Conners version but not the Paul Hogan!

Probably was for a children's movie. A dolphin that can communicate with humans.

I can understand how I missed 12 O’Clock High, but the fact that Buffy tripped me up fills me with shame. 😔
