Ring in the holidays with the Andy Griffith Christmas album!

Ange wishes us all a Merry Christmas with several holiday classics.

Nowhere seems more quintessentially suited for Christmas than Mayberry. The town and its inhabitants are perfectly poised for warm and fuzzy Yuletide cheer. That's why The Andy Griffith Show has one of the greatest Christmas episodes of all time, with their season one "Christmas Story."

So, it shouldn't be much of a surprise, then, to learn that years later, Griffith released his own Christmas album. And why not? Loads of stars capitalize on their likeness by releasing albums so here's one that's genuinely wholesome. While many of his peers release projects that feel like absolute cash grabs, Griffith's Christmas album is much more aligned with his public perception.

A combination of short stories and Christmas songs populate the album, with Griffith playing a little 'gee-tar' throughout. It's a great piece of Christmas ephemera to kick back and imagine a snowy night in Mayberry.

Here is the album's tracklist:

"The Christmas Guest" (Story) – 5:33
"Joy to the World" – 2:04
"O Come, O Come, Emmanuel"/"What Child Is This?" – 3:36
"Jesus' Birth in Bethlehem, Luke 2" (Story) – 3:23
"Go Tell It on the Mountain" – 2:19
"Away in a Manger"/"Golden Slumber" – 3:16
"Beautiful Savior" – 2:49
"The Juggler" (Story)  – 6:56
"I Wonder as I Wander" – 2:58
"Jesus Walked That Lonesome Valley" – 3:10
"Belleau Wood" (Story) – 1:52
"Silent Night" – 3:00

So is Ellie going to do a duet with Andy on Away in the Manger or is she going to get snubbed on that as well?
