Lynda Carter and Lindsay Wagner finally team up, in a comic book at least

The upcoming series 'Wonder Woman ‘77 Meets The Bionic Woman' will make your '70s television dreams come true.

DC Comics / Dynamite Entertainment

For nearly four decades, the only way to see Wonder Woman and the Bionic Woman partner up was in your play room, with your vintage action figures and dolls. Now, at last, the two iconic superheroes of 1970s television will meet in an upcoming comic book series.

A joint venture of DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment, Wonder Woman ‘77 Meets The Bionic Woman, by Andy Mangels and Judit Tondora, brings together Diana Prince and Jamie Sommers on a mission to prevent the evil CASTRA from gettings its paws on world-defeating weapons.

The two comic book publishers previously collaborated for the Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet series. However, that team-up actually happened on television half a century ago. This one promises to be more of a fan-fantasy fulfillment.

"For forty years, fans have been wondering what would happen if their favorite television heroines got to meet," writer Andy Mangels said in a quote to ComicBook.com. The Wonder Woman ‘77 Meets The Bionic Woman series launches on December 7, 2016.

Vintage superhero television has proven to be quite popular with Dynamite of late. The publisher is currently in the midst of its The Six Million Dollar Man: The Fall of Man series. Meanwhile, DC has paired Batman '66 with both The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Avengers.

Now if only someone could craft a Batman '66 meets Wonder Woman '77 meets The Incredible Hulk '78 series — outside of our own Super Sci-Fi Saturday Night, of course.
