Which ''Opie'' episode is your favorite?

That lil' stinker's in some classics!

Everybody in Mayberry was important to The Andy Griffith Show. Each citizen had their place, and the show shifted dramatically whenever a character left.

But, no character was at the center of more morality tales than Opie. He brought out the best in everyone around him because he was just a kid. Everybody was more gentle when Opie was around. He learned some great lessons, and it made him a great kid.

While it's called The Andy Griffith Show, it's pretty solidly Opie's show, at least for some episodes.

So, we've taken the episodes with "Opie" in the title, and we'd like to know which is your favorite! We've included each episode name as well as a picture to help jog your memory. All you have to do is pick one! Be sure to share your answer in the comments section below to see how many agreed with you!

Loved this episode, it showed even kids had a heart in the 1960's. They knew when others needed help.

Loved all those but Countess Van Salecky says Three Wishes for Opie was #1

I didn't recognize some of the episodes by just the title. Not surprised Opie and the birdman scored the most points. It's a good episode, but it's sad. Not what I watch The Andy Griffith show for. Heck, if I want to feel sad, I'll just watch the news.

I like the spoiled kid episode. Two scenes that make me smile every time I hear/see them. First, when he's trying to get his dad's attention. Opie holds his breath for a period of time and Andy asks 'what are you doing?' Opie, being so well behaved, answers 'I'm holding my breath.' Andy then comments 'good lung excersise.' Last chance for attention: Opie lays down on the floor, kicking his feet and throwing a tantrum. Andy asks 'what are you doing now?" Opie stops his tantrum and calmly answers "I was having a tantrum." Andy then says "don't get your clothes all dirty."

Second scene is when Arnold Winkler is going to get a spanking out back of the courthouse in an 'old fashioned wood shed.' Opie asks his dad, "is he going to get a spanked Pa? Andy says "don't you think he deserves it?" Opie replies " I'd rather not say, after all he is one of my own kind."

"One Punch Opie" love the scene when Barney teaches Opie to throw his first punch. Also has OUTSTANDIN Barney scenes. Don Knotts was great and so funny in this episode. One of my favorite Barney episodes also.

IF McBeevee had been among the choices, I would definately
have picked that! But voted for Birdman, a close second!

70% Actually Ronny Howard was my favorite person on The Andy Griffith Show. Hecwas such a terrific actor. My favorite episode is Opie The Birdman. He is so heartbroken when he accidentally kills the Mother Bird.

Actually my favorite Opie episode, which isn't even listed, is the pilot episode The New Housekeeper when Opie accepts and wants Aunt Bea to stay 'cause she needs him.

Mine too. He was such a cute little boy. I promise not to leave half the milk. I'll leave all the milk.

I’m all over the place with this one. I liked mostly all of them except the medal one where he acted like a brat and Opie and the spoiled kis

3 wishes for Opie. But I think it was really a tie. Opie loves Helen.

I chose Opie and the Spoiled Kid, but I could easily have gone with Opie and the Bully, Opie the Birdman, or A Medal for Opie.
