How well do you remember the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?

Test your knowledge of the lyrics, artwork, lore and more.

The Beatles are and will remain the biggest rock band of all time. Just labeling the Fab Four a mere "rock band" feels incomplete. Many consider Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band to be the Beatles' masterwork. The pioneering LP continually appears atop the list of "Greatest Albums of All Time," and has sold in the millions upon millions — enough to fill the Royal Albert Hall, certainly.

Heck, even as we write this, Sgt. Pepper's is currently the No. 34 rock album on Apple Music, half a century later.

So, yeah, the album has legs. (More than 140 of them on that brilliant album cover, actually.) How well do you know this musical landmark? Test your Beatles trivia!
  1. 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' was the eighth studio album by the Beatles. In what year was it released?
  2. What color uniform was Ringo wearing on the cover?
  3. How many Beatles had mustaches on the cover?
  4. This Beatle sang the lead vocals on "With a Little Help from My Friends."
  5. The version of "With a Little Help from My Friends" by Joe Cocker was used as the theme song for which nostalgic 1980s TV series?
  6. Which psychedelic song appeared on 'Sgt. Peppers'?
  7. What is the name of the titular meter maid in the third song of Side B?
  8. This singer is the fictional frontman of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, according to the opening title track.
  9. This is the name of the horse in "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!"
  10. What are the names of the "grandchildren on your knee" in "When I'm Sixty-Four?"
  11. How many Beatles actually lived to the age of 64?
  12. This '70s rock star portrayed Billy Shears in the infamous 1978 film 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.'
  13. The skies in "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" are the color of this food.
  14. This former member of the Beatles can be seen as one of the faces on the album cover, on the far left.
  15. Who is the only Beatle to perform music on the track "Within You Without You?"
  16. In the lyrics for "A Day in the Life," John "read the news" about 4,000 holes in which English city?
  17. How many versions of John, Paul, George and Ringo are featured on the cover?
  18. This pop artist co-created the iconic album cover for 'Sgt. Pepper's.'
  19. This animal is heard at the beginning of "Good Morning Good Morning."
  20. What is the name of the BBC sitcom that John Lennon mentions in his lyrics for "Good Morning Good Morning?"

How well do you remember the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?

16/20, had no idea about Ex-Beatles being on the cover, miscalculated George Harrison's age

That one tripped me up also. Otherwise, I nailed it.

Looks like the scumbag scammers beat us to the punch and posted a bogus advertisement here. I leave this message for them: SCREW OFF AND TAkE YOUR WORTHLESS CRAP WITH YOU!!!!!!

I ask all true and legitimate MeTV fans to join me in this sentiment and pass this message on to all the scumbags who would pollute these chat lines. Thank you.

16/20 and yes, Stephanie I know as a Beatles fan I should have done better! Lots of comments to make: [4]Fun Fact: the second line was going to be "would you throw ripe tomatoes at me", but Ringo said no! [6] I checked all before remembering that the other 2 songs were Magical Mystery Tour! [9] Yes, I mixed up Harry and Henry! [15] I really thought that was a Paul song but it was a George! [18]Checked Peter Max and then I remembered Yellow Submarine! The others were easy!
20/20. It sounds to me, like I'm not as big a fan as you, but I still managed to get 100%. I was half expecting to have you ask: "Whose album did the Beatles dethrone from the #1 spot on the Billboard Album Chart?" {There might be some who are unfamiliar with this piece of trivia.}
Fess up: Did you at any time while taking this quiz, cheat by looking at the album cover? I looked at the cover, but only to verify if I had the right answer. I don't think that should be considered cheating if you felt you know the answer, but were just checking to make sure it is the right one....Is it?
#4. The reason the line was changed, was so folks wouldn't pelt Ringo with the love apples if Ringo performed the song live. In years past, George made some remark about really liking jelly beans. So, whenever The Beatles performed, they were pelted with them. So that's why they changed the line. They didn't want to have that same thing happen with the tomatoes.
15. George was the only one it could have been. I think he was the only one who knew how to play the sitar.
NO, OF COURSE I DID NOT CHEAT !!!!
What sort of girl do you think I am.
Why I never !!
(Well, ALMOST never. Just on occasion and if I really like the boy)
