How well do you know retro slang?

Are you hip to this slang?

Like all things, slang terms, especially the ones that young people use, evolve over time. Instead of things being "groovy," they're now "lit." We're not quizzing you on your ability to translate what your kids are saying, though.

Today, we're seeing how well you can translate some of the trendiest retro words and phrases. It may have been decades since you last used these words, but we think you're hip enough to remember. Good luck!
  1. What does it mean when something is described as "choice?"
  2. How are you feeling when you're "having a gas?"
  3. What are you doing if you have to "crash?"
  4. What kind of person would you describe as a "fink?"
  5. Why would you call someone a "hot dog?"
  6. What are you showing someone when you show them your "pad?"
  7. Why don't you want your friend to date a "sponge?"
  8. What do you mean when you're "hip" to something?
  9. What does it mean to "rat" your hair?
  10. Who would you call an "egghead?"

9/10 although I feel #8 should be ALL OF THE ABOVE. Any answer you pick should have been correct.

Guessed on a few of those. Cool to learn these old school terms!

1 day I angrily called a suck-up classmate "fink". Upset he told our teacher that I called him a fink. The teacher asked the class what "fink" meant & 1 girl explained it meant a snitch or tattle tale. Thus by griping to our teacher about what I called him he was indeed a fink! ☺
