10/10. Only it's Nate Pike, not Nat. The book Mayberry 101: Behind the Scenes of a TV Classic by Neal Brower quotes writer Everett Greenbaum about the origin of the name: "Nate Pike was a great big bully who used to beat me up in school. Nate's theory about a penny hit by lightning grew out of a childhood memory. As kids, we thought a penny run over by a train was lucky, so we extended it to lightning strikes" (p. 6).
