Are these names of '50s TV cowboys or '80s action heroes?

Maverick meant different things to these two generations.

How much do 1950s TV cowboys and 1980s action movie heroes have in common?

Enough that audiences of both decades were obsessed with characters named Maverick.

Still think you can separate the heroes of the Old West from the tough guys who threw punches on the big screen? Well yippie-ki-yay, give it a try!

15/15. There was an Eighties movie based off of "Wanted: Dead or Alive" that starred Rutger Hauer as Nick Randall, a descendant of Josh's.
There's also a song with that same title by Bon Jovi {as long as we're "mentioning" spin-offs" from the tv show title. I'm not sure, but maybe the show/title is what inspired whomever wrote the song, to write it.}
