Patrick is a movie buff who put his pandemic lockdown time to good use. Cut off from friends and family, he began filling his home with iconic screen-used props and costumes inspired by his favorite movie characters.
Now, Patrick is giving Lisa a tour of his collection of instantly recognizable figures. Walking into the space feels like stepping onto memory lane — a nostalgic trip through the films that shaped his childhood.
What started as a way to pass the time quickly became a starring role in his life. Today, his collection includes about 30 to 40 individual costumes in a variety of scales. Take a look at this cinematic masterpiece!

1. Costume from the movie Elf
Season’s greetings! This is Richard McBride’s costume from the 2003 film Elf. McBride played one of Santa’s background elves and appeared throughout many scenes in the workshop.
While Will Ferrell’s costume from the film sold for more than $300,000, this background elf costume has still landed on Santa’s nice list when it comes to appreciating in value.
According to our expert, the costume would be worth about $8,000 today. Patrick's collection is the gift that keeps on giving.
2. Elvira screen-worn gown
This costume is from Elvira: Mistress of the Dark and was screen-used primarily during the dance scenes. Elvira appears in many collections featured on Collector’s Call because the character remains such an iconic figure in horror pop culture.
For Patrick, the costume represents everything he loves about the 1980s and the nostalgia of that era. While Lisa prefers Svengoolie, there’s no denying this piece casts quite a spell on horror fans.
Patrick purchased the costume two years ago, and it has only increased in value because of its history, provenance and screen-used status.
According to our expert, it would be worth about $16,000 today.
3. A League of Their Own screen-used uniform
Patrick's collection is in a league of its own — and so is this piece!
This screen-used uniform is from A League of Their Own, though it is not tied to a specific actress.
The uniform belonged to the Racine Belles, rivals of the Rockford Peaches in the film. For Patrick, the piece checks every box: He grew up loving the movie and has always been a big baseball fan.
It’s truly a home-run collectible. According to our expert, the uniform would be worth about $4,000 today. He knocked this one out of the park!
4. Whoopi Goldberg’s costume from Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit
This piece is from Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit — and it’s nun other than Whoopi Goldberg’s screen-used costume from the movie.
The costume still has traces of Goldberg’s makeup on it, adding an extra layer of Hollywood history. Patrick purchased the piece from a private collector for $4,500, and for him, it’s a showstopper.
Screen-used pieces tied to beloved films like this rarely stay under the radar for long. According to our expert, the costume would be worth about $10,000 today. It's a value that’s truly heaven-sent.
5. Hook costume collection
Hook is one of Patrick’s all-time favorite movies, so these pieces hold a special place in his collection. The group includes Robin Williams’ shirt from the film, Thud Butt’s complete costume, Tootles’ marbles, a slingshot and more.
Some of the pieces are personally signed, while others still contain traces of makeup and production wear from filming, making the collection feel like a direct trip back to Neverland.
The complete Thud Butt costume is one of the standout pieces, and together the collection has become the crowning jewel of his movie memorabilia lineup.
According to our expert, the entire collection would be worth around $50,000 today — proof these treasures never grow up.
6. Rey's staff from Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Star Wars: The Force Awakens fans will recognize this piece immediately. This is Rey’s screen-used staff from the film.
Even more impressive, traces of sand from the desert filming scenes remain on the staff, making it feel like it came straight from a galaxy far, far away.
The piece also includes a letter of authentication, adding to its importance in Star Wars history.
According to our expert, one of these staffs has not sold publicly in recent history, making it difficult to determine an exact value. Still, the estimated worth today would be around $30,000. The Force is definitely strong with this one.
