Feeling blue? This Smurfs collection is for you!
Jul. 21, 2025
Andrew has a heart that’s three apples tall, filled with an impressive collection of Smurf memorabilia. After a lifetime of collecting, his big collection of these small Smurfs has about 5,000 items.
Let's dive deep into the world of blue creatures and hidden villages, exploring one-of-a-kind wax prototypes from the ’80s, an entire end-cap shelf display, and even a letter from the daughter of the creator of The Smurfs.
His lifelong love for The Smurfs comes from his admiration for their community and kindness. He’s truly a collector who’s blue in the best way. Where some Smurfs are sleepy, jokey, or silly, Andrew is a collector Smurf! Take a look at this collection in blue, made just for you!
1. Papa Smurf Store Display

This isn't just any Smurf—it’s a Papa Smurf store display from Germany! According to our collector, these small Smurfs have a big fan base across the globe, and he had this one shipped all the way from overseas.
Like most store displays, it wasn’t made for the public—so having one is very rare. These displays were typically given to stores that sold Smurfs merchandise, and most were thrown away after use.
Papa Smurf is the leader of the Smurfs—one of the wisest in the village and said to reflect the voice of the creator himself. While Smurfs are usually only three apples high, this display breaks the mold.
Our expert valued it at $800. Now that’s a big blue treasure!
2. Gargamel's House Playset

This is Gargamel’s playset! The Smurfs were good and he was evil—but you’d never know it from his surprisingly cute castle.
This toy playset was released in 1994. It was never used and has since made a great display in Andrew’s collection.
According to our expert, it’s one of the biggest Smurfs playsets ever made. It was produced for about 10 years in three different versions—this one is the third iteration.
Today, it’s worth around $1,200. Not bad for a villain’s lair!
3. Astro's Moon Explorer Playset

Here’s another Smurftastic item!
This toy was made for kids to play with but was very limited in production—only a few were ever made. It features Astro, one of many Smurf fans’ favorite characters. Who’s yours?
It’s the toy’s rarity and the love for the character that make it highly collectible. This Smurf dreamed of becoming an astronaut—who doesn’t have big dreams?
It even came with the original box, which collectors know is important. While some keep toys in the box, Andrew prefers to take his out and enjoy it.
It’s still worth quite a bit—around $500. Now that’s big dreaming!
4. Collector's Center Shelving Display

The Smurfs Collector’s Center is Collector’s Call approved!
Andrew is all about display items because not many people have them. This is a great display that also gave him more space to store his items.
According to our expert, there isn’t much information available on this piece due to its rarity. He has only found three of them, making it extremely rare.
Our expert estimates it could be worth around $5,000.
5. 1988 Numbers and Music Wax Prototypes

These are wax prototypes of Smurfs that were never produced. They were part of an online auction 20 or 30 years ago. Many people passed them by because of their lack of color, but Andrew knew just how rare they are.
These prototypes were for a line themed around numbers and music—ideas the sculptor had but never brought to life.
Andrew won the auction for $125, which is a smurfy steal. Toy companies may not see the value in these, but collectors do. Prototypes are incredibly coveted and rare.
Today, they’d be worth around $1,400—a big price for some little guys!
6. Letter and Smurfs Figure from Véronique Culliford

This is a letter sent to Andrew from the daughter of the creator of The Smurfs, Véronique Culliford.
The creator developed many different characters and is known as the father of the Smurfs.
Andrew has met her a couple of times, and she appreciated his collection and how genuine he is about his passion for The Smurfs.
It’s worth about $150, but Andrew would never sell it because it’s so special and personal to him. No price could make him part with this Smurf.
