After completing a hazardous driving refresher course, Sgt. MacDonald assigns Malloy and Reed to a nighttime undercover bicycle patrol to test Officer Wells' idea on how to deal with a rash of residential car break-ins. The next day, they pull over a hippie with an obnoxious passenger, and then put their refreshed driving skills to the test when called to a burglary in progress at a new car showroom.
