Television hot rod designer George Barris laid to rest in Batmobile styled coffin

The funeral for the "Kustom Car King" featured 1966 Batmobile tailfins and Batman floral arrangements.

Last month, we reported that "Kustom Car King" George Barris passed away. Recently, Barris was laid to rest in Forest Lawn in Los Angeles. The noted hot rod designer created cool automobiles for The Beverly Hillbillies, The Munsters, Mannix, Knight Rider and other shows and movies. His most popular and iconic work, undoubtedly, is the original Batmobile from 1966.

The Batman ride figured so prominently in Barris' life, that the man had a custom coffin styled after the vehicle. The lid sports Batmobile tailfins. Airbrushed paintings of other memorable Barris works are detailed around the outside. Batman-themed floral decorations were on display at the funeral as well.
