An Iowa artist made Star Trek sculptures out of butter

Mmm… creamy Spock.

Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a dairy spread!

In 2016, Star Trek fans could visit a unique take on their heroes. Butter sculptor Sarah Pratt unveiled her lifesize butter — yes, you read that correctly — sculptures of Mr. Spock, Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy and Uhura at the Iowa State Fair.

There is a giant, creamy Enterprise, too. These butter sculptures were created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. For those unfamiliar with the Midwest, yes, this is a common thing.

We are excited and just a touch repulsed by these massive butter forms. But how many people can say they can create a likeness of Leonard Nimoy out of dairy products? Take a look at a couple of the sculptures via KCCI Des Moines.
