The Beverly Hillbillies originally ran from 1962 to 1971. Much about television changed over that revolutionary decade. No evolution was more important than the proliferation of color television.

The Hillbillies were filmed in both black & white and color. The sitcom made the leap in season four. The show was wildly popular in both formats. In fact, some episodes still rank as the most viewed of all time. Tens of millions of people saw these episodes.
